The platform constraint, first
Most of what makes origin classification work is unavailable on Shopify: there is no request path to install into and no server to run on.
What remains is the script-level integration, which sees clients that execute JavaScript. That covers browser-driven automation and misses a plain HTTP fetch — and a plain HTTP fetch is exactly how most price monitoring is done.
This is a real gap rather than a detail. It is here rather than in a footnote because deciding against us on this basis is a reasonable decision.

03 · what is not available here
What is not available here
Origin enforcement. Verified-crawler checks on the request path. Classification of clients that never run a script.
If what you need is price-scraping protection, a platform that permits server-side code will serve you better, and that is worth knowing before you spend a week on an integration.
Questions
Can Botscope block bots on Shopify?
Not at the origin, because Shopify does not expose one. Enforcement on this platform is limited to what the storefront allows.
Will it stop competitors scraping my prices?
Usually not on Shopify. Price monitoring typically uses plain HTTP fetches, which the script-level integration does not see.
What is it useful for on Shopify then?
Visibility into browser-driven automation and into AI agents that execute scripts, plus the crawler catalogue as a reference.
Is a Shopify app planned?
Nothing is announced. We would rather say that than describe a roadmap item as though it shipped.
